Daniel Hood Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Parkville on Jan. 29, 2026.
Daniel R. Hood, age 35, of Baltimore, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026.

Daniel had an incredibly outgoing personality and a reputation of steadfast determination when given a task. He possessed an artistic flair and enjoyed expressing himself through writing, sketching, and the Japanese art of mokuhanga (bronze rubbings). He had a strong passion for music, whether it was playing riffs on a guitar or attending Slipknot and metal concerts with friends. He was known to be seen with earbuds in at most times. He enjoyed reading everything from fiction to exploring religion, philosophy, and spirituality. He enjoyed debate and discussion with friends and relatives. He also had an incredible fondness for animals and spoke frequently about his love for his childhood pet parakeets "Flash" and "Sunny."

Daniel was known since childhood for his witty nature that he never disappointed to follow up with a mischievous smile. Daniel is survived by his mother and father, Kenneth R. Hood and Beth L. Hood (nee Richwien); brother Bradley Hood; niece and nephew Arabella and Brody Hood; Grandmothers Sylvia Richwien and Carol Hood; along with many loving aunts, uncles, and other family members and supportive friends.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Daniel's life at the family-owned Evans Life Celebration, located at 8800 Harford Road, Parkville, MD 21234. A receiving of friends will be held on February 11, 2026, from 1:00-3:00 PM and 5:00-7:00 PM. A formal service will occur on February 12, 2026, at 1:00pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 4815 Hamilton Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21206.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to ADA (American Diabetes Association) and/or Mann House https://www.mannhouse.org/donate/
