Daniel Lee Hurst, a spirited and beloved figure, was born on March 11, 1970, in Dayton, Ohio. He left this world unexpectedly on March 14, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories and an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Daniel will be fondly remembered as the life of the party, known for his infectious laugh and great sense of humor. A passionate man, he delighted in sharing stories, particularly about his interests in cars and motorcycles. His love for watching movies and listening to music served as a backdrop to countless happy moments spent in the company of family and friends. Daniel possessed an innate ability to create joy and foster connections, making every gathering warmer and more memorable.
He is survived by his devoted father, Norman Hurst, and his step-father, Richard Denlinger. His loving wife of 16 years, Jeannie, was not only his partner but his confidante, and their bond was a testament to love and companionship. Daniel took immense pride in being a father to his children, Gavin Short, Tyler Gilbert, and Kaley (Jacob Carter) Gilbert, who will carry forward his legacy of laughter and love. He was also a cherished grandfather to Brantley, Grayson, Leo, and Nadia, who brought him endless joy and inspired his playful spirit.
Daniel’s siblings—David (Joanna) Denlinger and Kimberly (Mike) Croake—along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, will deeply miss his vibrant presence. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Joann Denlinger, and his brother, Dustin Denlinger, whose memories remain intertwined with his own.
As we reflect on Daniel's life, we celebrate a caring and passionate individual who brought joy to those around him. His legacy of love, laughter, and enthusiasm for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 401 N. Miami Ave in West Carrollton. Pastor Chuck Purvis to officiate.
