Daniel Jennings Obituary

Daniel John Jennings

Daniel John Jennings, 81, of Scottsdale, AZ, died peacefully at his home on February 23, 2025, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Dan was born January 27, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to parents, Evelyn and John Jennings. He attended Bradley University studying architecture before entering the US Navy, where he proudly served at Great Lakes Naval Station for 6 years. He later went on to start Action Fence contractors, where he worked until retiring in 2006.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Susan; his children, Christopher (Jane Graham-Jennings), and Becky (David Knoepfle); his grandchildren, Charlie and Ellie; his sister, Geraldine (Marzullo); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He and Susan spent much of their retirement at their lake home in Wisconsin, where Dan, an avid fisherman, could cast to his heart's content. They relocated to Arizona in 2013.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Thursday, March 20, at St. Patrick Catholic Community in Scottsdale, AZ, and a funeral mass will be held this summer at St. Raymond Catholic Church in Mt. Prospect, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Off the Street Club (www.offthestreetclub.com) would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Susan and Family, I was sincere condolences for the loss of your wonderful Dan. We have not known you for many years, but we feel we felt an immediate connection with both of you. We remember the interest he showed in others and his laugh. He was a positive and caring person. We will miss you Dan. You gave it all you had.

To our entire family and especially to Susan, Chris, Jane, Becky, Dave, Ellie and Charlie we will all miss him - his laugh- his smile and his love. I only wish we had an opportunity to fish together in the North Atlantic for some really big ones that would take 30 minutes to bring them into the boat. Love you, Dan Your friend- Don
