Obituary
Daniel Najjar Kariem was born on May 8th,1944 to his parents, Robert Otho and Florence Ann Johnson, in Denver, Colorado.
Daniel matriculated through the Denver Public school system graduating from South High School. After graduation Aaron decided to serve his country and joined the United States Army. He served proudly from 1962-1966 in Germany. He was honorably discharged for his outstanding and courageous service. By trade Daniel was a Master Carpenter.
While at South High School, Daniel met and married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Fareedah H. Kariem on March 3rd, 1968. To this union three children were born, Faheemah, Fatima, and Saladon. His children were his pride and joy, and all of his accomplishments were for his family. Daniel was later blessed with eleven grandchildren, Jamal, Aqueelah, Ali, Kamilah, Shaqueta, Veriana, Nafessa, Cyan, Fareedah, Saladin Najjar, and J'La Imani who were an additional source of pride and joy to his life.
Affectionately known as "Grandpa", he was a stickler for having good penmanship and he would help his grandchildren with their handwriting often. They also looked forward to spending every Sunday at the Library. His grandchildren will remember him for being a kind-hearted, strong-willed, teacher, poet, and artist who knew exactly what they needed to overcome the struggles in life. They are forever grateful for his knowledge and credit him for their "drive" in life. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Daniel Najjar Kariem departed this life into the arms of Allah on December 28th, 2021, at University Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Fareedah H. Kariem; children, Faheemah, Fatima, and Saladon; grandchildren, Jamal, Aqueelah, Ali, Kamilah, Shaqueta, Veriana, Nafessa, Cyan, Fareedah, Saladin Najjar, and J'La Imani; and a host of other relatives and friends.
