Daniel H. Kavanagh of Henrietta
Quietly at the age of 94 he passed away on February 11, 2026.

Predeceased by his wife Jean Markert Kavanagh, first wife Beverly McIntyre Kavanagh, daughter Theresa M. Kavanagh and son Daniel M. Kavanagh.

Survived by daughter, Debbie (Sean) Bartlow; stepdaughters, Barbara (Peter) Scheidt, Diane (James) McBride, Pamela Wilson and Nancy (Tim) Mastin; stepson, George (Wanda) Markert; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Dan was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army National Guard Reserve.

He was active in his community. Dan served on the Town of Henrietta Recreation Commission and was one of the original founders of the Rush-Henrietta Sports Boosters. As a fan of sports, he was the Coach of the Raiders with the Town of Henrietta Youth Football team from 1970 – 2008 and he received the 2003 Youth Sports Coach award by the Genesee Valley Recreation and Parks Society. Dan was a 4 time boxing champion at the Aquinas Mission bouts and as an adult he refereed boxing matches through USA Boxing. He was a tenor who loved music and was often found whistling some of his favorite songs, including O Danny Boy, of which he had to opportunity to sing in a pub in Ireland. He and Jean were often found on the dance floor at weddings and parties dancing away to all the big band music. Dan was a graduate of Aquinas Institute and was especially proud of his 2016 induction into the Aquinas Institute Hall of Fame. His sense of humor and love of music remained with him until the end.

Friends and family may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 3325 Winton Road South.

Dan's funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the All Seasons Chapel of White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road. Interment to follow.
