Joe Kerns, 76, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Ayden Healthcare of Belle Springs in Bellefontaine.
Joe was born on September 4, 1949, in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was the son of the late Ward and Clarice (Miller) Kerns. Joe had seven siblings: Glenn, John, Philip, Jim, Marilyn, Rosalie, and Gloria.
He graduated in 1969 from Bellefontaine High School. He worked for Barton Candy Company as a salesman and continued when they sold the company to Superior Wholesale Distributors in Lima, Ohio, until he retired in December 2025. He loved watching football and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan. He was a member of the VFW Post #1080, Bellefontaine. Some of his favorite times were spent hanging out and making memories with his friends.
Joe is survived by a daughter, Kimberly (Joe) Page, Albuquerque, NM and son, Daniel J. Kerns II, Bellefontaine, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Graeme Nicholl, Fiona Page, Nora Page, Liam Page and Emma Page, all of Albuquerque, NM and Peyton Kerns of Urbana, Ohio and Carson Kerns of West Liberty, Ohio. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and seven siblings.
Per his request he was cremated and there will be no services at this time.
