KESTEN, Daniel Thomas – of Burton, MI, age 72, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors 12-4 PM Monday, November 3, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in Dan's memory.
Dan was born in Flint, MI on November 3, 1952, son of the late Pat and Mary Jane (Teague) Kesten. Dan was a graduate of Davison High School, Class of 1970. On June 10, 1972, Dan married the love of his life, Ramona Farner, beginning a partnership that would span decades and exemplify deep love and commitment. Dan spent 35 years with General Motors, where he worked diligently until his well-earned retirement in 2006. His strong work ethic and easygoing nature earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Outside of work, Dan truly came alive in the outdoors. He found peace and joy in hunting, fishing, and golfing, and never turned down a good game of bowling or cards-whether it was Gin, Cribbage, or Poker. His laughter and friendly spirit made every gathering a little brighter, every competition a little more fun. Dan's life was one defined by love-love for his family, his friends, and the simple pleasures that made each day special. His kindness, humor, and unwavering warmth will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
Dan is survived by his wife, Ramona D. Kesten; 3 children, Nateari (Jamie) Overmyer, Venessa (Michael) Vaughn and Phillip (Jenna) Kesten; 5 grandchildren, Devon Vaughn, Elizabeth Vaughn, Aubree Overmyer, Finn Kesten and Maverick Kesten; 2 siblings, Craig "Buck" (Tracy) Kesten and Teri Nicholson; aunt, Sharon Kesten; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Mary Jane Kesten; 2 uncles, Thomas Kesten and Michael Kesten.
