Daniel Delaney Kidder-Hernandez, 16, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 26, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 8, 2026, with accompaniment by three members of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway to begin at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Daniel was born November 20, 2009, in Charleston, South Carolina, the beloved son of John Morris Kidder and Debra Kidder. He was a student whose life, though far too short, touched everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sister, Maria Kidder-Hernandez; his mother, Debra Kidder; and his father, John Morris Kidder, his brother Guillermo Aguayo Lopez and birth mother, Jessica Kidder; his Great Grandmother, Barbara Butts Moyer; immediate family, Alan (Cindy Moyer), Lee Moyer (Linda), Larry Moyer, Brook (Martin) Hendrick, Allison (Brandon) Oglesby, Aunt Suzanne Butts Tyner (Jeff); many other cousins, and his cat, Oliver. He was preceded by his birth father, Guillermo Cano Hernandez and brother, Emilio Hernandez.
Daniel's favorite hobbies were 16 years of sitting with Coolpa, reading, laughing, playing, and watching movies; Moza race driving, playing on his gaming PC, building Legos, soccer, and rough playing in swimming pools with Coolpa. He was very happy attending Darlington Races with his Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Alan. Uncle Alan gave him his first diving lesson in his golf cart, he was so stoked, he made the pics of it into his class project! Coolpa was teaching him to drive, by letting Daniel drive to Allegro, in early morning traffic! He was passionate about “super cars” and could name and give tech data for any of them.
His goal was to become an EMT to help people in need and, of course, drive the ambulance safely to the hospitals.
His light is now shining in Heaven…In lieu of flowers, and in memory of his kind, caring spirit, please consider donating to his beloved, Allegro School of Music, Band dept. He was thoroughly enjoying being the student of the month, on the A/B Honor roll, his perfect attendance trophy and being a 2nd year advanced piano student. We know that he would want other kids to enjoy that opportunity too.
He never met a stranger and made friends with everyone, such that his light will always be shining, as he looks down on us, from the Heavens.
