Dan Kiesey, 88, of Coralville, Iowa, died at Windmill Manor on Friday, December 5th, 2025.

He was born in Washington, Iowa, to Stanton and Catherine (Tommy) Kiesey, graduating from Washington High School in 1956. Dan attended Iowa Teacher's College (now UNI) and served in the United States Army & Army Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his parents Stanton and Catherine, brother Jerry, and daughter-in-law Kim (Michael).

Dan is survived by his wife Katie, siblings Jack (Jan) of Washington, IA, and Julie (Dave) Kinker of Ames, IA; sons Michael of Burnside, IA, Tim (Kris) of Coralville, IA, and Andy (Melissa) of Marion, IA; grandchildren Lauren, Jacob, Megan, Avery, Aiden, and Austyn.

Dan and Katie were married in 1961 in Washington, Iowa. They moved to Cedar Rapids where Dan accepted a position at Collins Radio in 1962, retiring from Rockwell Collins in 1999. During that time he worked in many areas, including production support, purchasing, IT, and Enterprise Resource Planning.

Dan had several hobbies, spending time golfing, shooting, and lifting. He volunteered a significant amount of time with the Linn-Mar booster club as well as the business development program at the high school. He was recognized by the State of Iowa receiving the Outstanding Secondary Advisory Committee Multi-Occupational Program Award at Linn-Mar as well as a Private Sector Initiative Commendation from President Ronald Regan at a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden.

A Celebration of Life will be held this spring in Coralville.
