Daniel Steven Killips
Dan was born on May 11th,
1979, in Bay City, Michigan. He passed away of natural causes in his home in Fairborn, OH on September 28th, 2021.
Dan is survived by his wife, Shana Killips, and daughters Ella Sue and Olivia Margaret of Okemos, MI, parents, Steven and Susan Killips of Traverse City, MI, sister Sarah (Killips) Helveston (brother-in-law Michael, niece Margaret, nephew Abram) of Traverse City, MI, grandmother Marlene Killips of Petoskey, MI, and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Dan earned his PhD in 2007 at Michigan State University and spent his career in electromagnetic engineering, which brought him to Ohio. He was very proud of his exceptional daughters that inherited his sense of humor and intelligence. Family and friends of Dan could always count on him for a "dad joke." He was also a musician, playing both guitar and piano throughout his life. He loved a loud jam session and listening to the blues. He also enjoyed playing poker, golfing, and swimming in Michigan lakes with his friends and family. Dan will be remembered for his kindness, crooked smile, sense of humor and love for others.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 with a visitation starting at 11 AM and a service at 12 PM at the 2|42 Community Church Lansing Campus, 2600 Bennett Road, Okemos, MI 48864 with Pastor Chad Cronin officiating. A luncheon will follow at the University Club of MSU, 3435 Forest Road, Lansing, MI 48910 to share in memories of Dan.
