Daniel J. “Snickers” Knapton, 67 of Waterloo, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
Snickers was born on March 20, 1958, in Columbus, the son of Gordon and Violet (Pribbenow) Knapton. He was a graduate of Waterloo High School. Snickers loved being outside farming with his John Deere Tractors. In his free time, he enjoyed attending car shows and swap meets. Snickers also liked to watch Packers and Brewers games. Above all else, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Snickers is survived by: his son Mark (Ashley) Knapton; grandchildren Mark, Zachary, Valerie and Cameron; significant other Joanne Wampole; sister Sue Zingshiem; brothers Walter (Linda) Knapton, David (Cindy) Knapton, and William (Jodi) Knapton; and niece Megan (Dante) Kuehl. Snickers is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.
Snickers is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Mike and nephew Scott.
A celebration of Snicker's life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Waterloo Fireman's Park Bingo Hall.
