Daniel Krueger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Jan. 31, 2026.
Daniel Krueger, born September 21, 1956, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on January 24, 2026.

Daniel was the son of Edward John Krueger and Violet Mae Krueger and was, in every sense, his family's Superman. He built the home they lived in, built and drilled his daughter's water well, and spent his life caring for those he loved. A man of deep faith, Daniel was devoted to the Lord and especially enjoyed studying and reading the Book of Revelation. He was a deep thinker who freely shared his insights and teachings with family and loved ones.

Daniel could build or fix just about anything-and if he didn't know how, he would find a way. Most recently, he converted a box truck into a mobile home, a testament to his creativity and determination. Every Sunday after church, he cooked for the entire family. He proudly made what everyone agreed was the best chili-complete with ancho chilies he ground himself.

He was often described as "what you see is what you get," larger than life, and a true fighter. Fifteen years ago, he was given only three months to live, yet he pressed on with strength and grace. Daniel never cared for worldly possessions, was never angry, and never spoke a bad word or curse. Many described him as a watchman-constantly researching world events and staying informed about what was happening around him.

Above all, Daniel cherished time with his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Krueger, whom he married on June 4, 1976, in Oklahoma City. He is also survived by his children: Marla Merts and her husband Andy, Chad Krueger and his wife Cheryl, and Brent Krueger and his wife Amanda; eight grandchildren: Tyler, Eve, Leah, Abigail, Norah, Hannah, Arron, and Violet; and five siblings: Edward "John" Krueger, Ronnie Krueger, Valera McKay, Helen Davison, and Hope Davison, along with many loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward John Krueger and Violet Mae Krueger, and his brothers David Krueger, Oriville Krueger, Jimmy Pitts, and Mike Krueger.
