It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Daniel M. LeBrun announces his passing on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025, at the age of 71. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Arsenault) LeBrun. His kind and dedicated soul was brought into this world on August 5th, 1953. He was the son of the late Yolande LeBrun. Dan was born and raised in Lewiston Maine, attending Catholic schools, including St Dominic's High School, where his love of extracurricular organizations began. Never one for half measures, Dan was a part of 14 student organizations where he more often than not served as VP, President, or Editor. He did this while placing in the school science fair, making Honor Roll, and playing tennis all 4 years. He continued this trend at Providence College joining 8 different organizations, starring in a musical, earning Dean's List and taking a semester in Switzerland while earning a bachelor's degree in Humanities, and a Master's in Theology, beginning a lifetime of community building and being of service. Dan embarked on his career as a Youth Ministry Coordinator in Cumberland Rhode Island before working for the Department of Children, Youth and Families for the State of Massachusetts. Looking to work closer to home and have a bigger impact, Dan joined non-profit New Hope Inc, as Development Director, where he stayed for 10 years. After a brief period as a successful mortgage broker, Dan returned to his passion for helping others, joining Associates for Human Services to direct the Taunton Area School to Career program before retiring in January of 2020. Throughout his life in Taunton, Dan was a volunteer, board member or president of many local charities designed to improve the lives of those around him including Heart of Taunton, Weir Corp, Early Head Start, Community Counseling of Bristol County, and many more. Dan also served on the city's Zoning Board, was a member of the Taunton Rotary Club for 25 years and was a member of Christian Life Community for over 50 years. Whether it was playing music for many churches and fundraisers over the years, coaching and refereeing youth sports, or just being a kind human, Dan always tried to make the world a better place for everyone to live in. Daniel will forever be remembered by his cherished children: Christopher LeBrun, Kathryn LeBrun, Matthew LeBrun and wife Michelle, three grandchildren: Jayden LeBrun, Paige LeBrun and Ruby LeBrun as well as his Aunt Camilla "Cookie" Beauchesne, cousins Suzanne St. Clair, Paul Beauchesne, Donald LeBrun, Richard LeBrun, Paul LeBrun, Dennis LeBrun and brother in law David Arsenault. Outside of his charitable work, Dan's greatest joys in life included spending time with friends and family, singing and playing guitar, and playing racquet sports. Visiting hours will be held in the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home at 70 Washington St. Taunton MA, on Tuesday, January 28th from 4pm to 7pm, and a Funeral Mass on Wednesday the 29th in St. Jude’s the Apostle Parish at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and, at Dan's request, encouraged to wear bright colors. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Dan's memory to a Scholarship Fund for his grandchildren at https://gofund.me/953443a5 or Associates for Human Services.
