Mr. Lewis was a Major in the United States Army and retired as a Deployment Officer.
Funeral Services will be held at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel May 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Ernie Forrester officiating. Interment will be June 1, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends May 26, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. So sad to hear of Dan's passing. I met him in 1979 while working at FORSCOM, DCSOPS, Patton Hall. You could always count on Dan. Years later, at the FORSCOM G3 Ops Div, he worked in the Deployment Branch. His attention to detail, supporting the thousands of AC/RC unit deployments for the multiple operations went without notice from all co-workers, subordinate and higher commands as the subject matter expert on deployments. I was always amazed at how he was able to refer to his multitude of deployment reports, etc in such a quick manner when anyone had questions! Rest in Peace Dan, job well done!
