Daniel Libro Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory - Leesburg on Jul. 15, 2025.
Daniel De Libro passed away peacefully on July 7th, 2025, at Bayview Nursing Center in Eustis. Dan was a devoted Husband, a caring Father, a loving Friend, a Friendly neighbor, and so much more. He was 80 years old. Daniel was born on March 25, 1945, in Copaige, Long Island, New York to Agnes De Libro (Romanello) and Louis P. De Libro.
He grew up in Bellmore, New York, and at the age of 18, he joined the United States Army. After serving approximately 2 years, he returned to Bellmore and a short time later, married his Sweetheart, Gloria, in February 1966. They remained married for 59 years, until Gloria was called home in June 2024. They had 6 children. (1 daughter and 5 sons) Over the course of his working years, Daniel made a living working as an auto mechanic, but also enjoyed construction work, and various other occupations. He was "a jack of all trades, and a master of several". Dan believed in doing things right the first time and taking pride in his work, and it showed.
Dan moved his family to Fruitland Park Florida in 1985, and shortly thereafter, he and Gloria joined a local Christian church and became very involved in ministry. He later became an ordained Deacon and found joy in serving the Lord and his community. He loved singing in the church choir, volunteering in the food pantry and witnessing to others, every chance he had. His outgoing personality and his love for people is something he will always be remembered for, and he was lovingly known in church as "the Godfather". Dan knew no strangers and often stopped what he was doing to offer help or to pray for anyone in need. He was always joking around and encouraging others.
Dan is survived by his children, Gina (Gregory) Ferguson, Daniel (Sara) De Libro, Christopher (Carey) De Libro, Andrew (Amanda) De Libro), Timothy (Dava) De Libro, and Nicholas (Cody) De Libro, his Brothers Lawrence De Libro, Thomas De Libro, and Louis De Libro, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
