He was a loving husband of 65 years to Edith (Edie) Gamble. An awesome dad to Karen (William) Tranor and Timothy (Patricia) Gamble.
He was a wonderful father figure to more than a few people! John was one of 14 siblings survived by brothers Ray Grubb and Tommy Gamble. He was very proud of his family, including his six grandchildren: John (Katie) Sumner, Jesse (Diana) Sumner, Kymberly (Nate) Thompson, Ty (Brianna) Gamble, Renea Tranor and Robert Tranor. Seven great-grandchildren: Marleigh, Rylie, Laila, Dallas, Stetson, Zoey, and Toby
John was never one to just sit around. He supported his family and community by being a dump truck driver, bee keeper, owner mechanic @ J & J Auto (with brother Joe Grubb) and John's Auto Repair. Owner/race car builder/welder/ fabricator @ Central Florida Race Cars, race car driver, and road grader operator.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at the Gardenia Center, 205 West Berckman St, Fruitland Park, FL 34731.
Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Leesburg, Florida.
