Richard Kenneth Gamble, "Ken", age 77, of Cheyenne, WY passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Ken was born  February 3, 1949, in Torrington, Wyoming to Kenneth and Lillian Gamble. He attended school in Torrington until the age of 11, when the family moved to Glendo, Wyoming. Ken graduated form Glendo High School in 1967, where he participated in football, basketball, and golf. He fittingly was voted "Wittiest" in his senior class. He attended two years at Eastern Wyoming College, before choosing a career in highway construction. Ken worked for Gilpatrick Construction of Riverton, Rissler and McMurry Co. and McMurry Ready Mix of Casper, until his retirement in 2012.

Ken was an avid University of Wyoming fan, and listened to every football and basketball game, both men and women, on his radio. He enjoyed the Wyoming sportscasters much more than any TV commentators. He also tuned into Cheyenne High School sports events that were broadcast. Ken loved reading,  especially enjoyed his local newspaper, Reader's Digest, and any book about American History. Taking care of his yard was a passion of Ken's. Neighbors and friends often commented on how beautiful his yard looked. If he visited family in the summer, he couldn't stay long because he had to get home to water his lawn!

Ken valued his family and his love for them was often shown by his generosity and offered support whenever needed. When he had time off from work or after his retirement, Ken and his brother Bill would travel to visit family in Wyoming and Nebraska. Ken was also the family member who placed flowers on gravesites in Torrington and Glendo every Memorial Day.

Ken valued friendships an stayed in contact with many high school friends and construction coworkers until his passing. He also had many breakfasts and lunches, with his network of "buddies" in Cheyenne. Ken enjoyed his "scratchies" and took many trips to Colorado with friends to pick up his scratchy cards and lottery tickets.

Ken is survived by sister Jeanne Gamble of Thayne, Wyoming; brother-in-law Tom Tidball of Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces Kathy Davis (Janet) of Casper, Wyoming, Nancy Farmer (Bill) of Katy Texas; nephew Michael Tidball (Kim) of Cortland, Nebraska.

Ken was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Gamble of Glendo, Wyoming; mother Lillian Gamble of Torrington, Wyoming; sister Shirley Davis of Casper, Wyoming; sister Kaye Tidball of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother Bill Gamble of Cheyenne, Wyoming;  and brother-in-law Chuck Davis of Casper, Wyoming.

A Celebration of Life and graveside service will be decided upon at a later date. The family requests that any memorials for Ken be sent to the Salvation Army in Cheyenne, Wyoming or the Wyoming Coalition for the Homeless also in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
