Daniel Ludeman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Currie Funeral Home and Crematory on Oct. 1, 2025.
Daniel James Ludeman, Sr. passed away peacefully on March 9th at his home on Carter's Creek in Weems, Virginia, surrounded by family. Born on November 18, 1956, Danny was the son of the late Joanne and Doug Ludeman. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan, and their four children: Danny Jr. (Erika), Allie (Adam), David (Francesca), and Caroline (Zach). He was a proud grandfather to John, Frances, Thora, Whit and one more on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Doug (Courtney), and his many cherished nieces and nephews.
Danny lived life at full speed. A tireless worker and natural leader, he poured his boundless energy into everything he did. He thrived on solving big problems, found deep purpose in his work, and took great pride in a job well done. His distinguished career in the brokerage industry was marked by vision and leadership, and later, he dedicated himself to a cause close to his heart-founding Concordance, a nonprofit committed to helping men and women transition from prison back into society.
Danny loved being part of the communities he called home, both in Richmond and St. Louis. A charismatic speaker and gifted storyteller, he relished opportunity to bring people together-whether hosting large gatherings or enjoying time with friends hunting, fishing, and playing cards. On vacations, he became a big kid himself, always the first to round up the children (and often an uncle or two) for impromptu adventures like riding Sea-Doos, playing putt-putt, or catching a movie. To many, Danny was larger than life. His energy was magnetic, and being in his orbit meant feeling the full force of his enthusiasm, generosity, and love for life.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Kate Farley for her dedication and unwavering support and Marva Smith for her compassionate care. We also express gratitude to Dr. Steven Bialick and his team at The University of Miami Health System. A private service will be held in Danny's honor.
