Daniel Lionel Lumadue, Age 77, passed away at Methodist Hospital in
Des Moines IA, on Friday July 4th 2025.
Dan was born May 20th 1948 in Des Moines, IA. He was the son of the
late Lionel and Alice (Schaffer) Lumadue of Des Mines, IA.
Dan was a graduate of Tech High School and also of Iowa Wesleyan
College where he received a Bachelor's of Science Degree. After
Graduation he worked as a computer programmer for many years. He
retired in 2015.
On June 21st 1969 he married the love of his life Michelle Howard.
Dan was a Veteran of the US Air Force and served during the Viet
Nam War, being stationed at various locations including Hawaii.
Dan was an extremely health-conscious person; he loved to work out
and he kept a close watch on his diet. He loved to play pool as well as
chess and he liked blues music. He loved to spend time with his family
and he was a very devoted husband.
Those left to cherish Dan's memory are: his wife Michelle, his
children; Tim of Des Moines IA, Lorie (Troy) of Hiawatha IA & Erich of
Des Moines IA; his grandchildren; Jacob (Amy) Weigert of Hiawatha
IA, Taylor Weigert of Hiawatha IA, Izak Lumadue of Waukee IA; his
brothers Andy (Diana) Lumadue, Brian (Rose) Lumadue, Richard
Lumadue, his sisters Susan (Scott) Bowman and Judy Dunblazier, his
relatives Carly Burton, Lindsay White and Patty Howard as well as
many nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, and several siblings. Dan
was the oldest of 11 children.
Memorial contributions can be directed to the family.
