Daniel Macaluso Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hampton Cove Funeral Home Cemetery & Crematory on Dec. 2, 2025.
With deep love and gratitude, we announce the passing of Daniel William Macaluso, 61, on November 30, 2025.

Born on September 1, 1964, Dan began his life in Rochester, New York, and spent his formative years growing up in Fort Myers, Florida. Dan and his wife, Vanessa, met in 1991 and built their life together in Orlando, Florida, where they raised their family before moving to Huntsville, Alabama, in 2022.

He graduated from Riverdale High School, earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida, and later received an MBA from the University of Central Florida. Dan built a meaningful career as a computer engineer, most recently working with the Innovation Factory at SAIC. He was proud of his work helping to strengthen our nation's defense positioning and especially enjoyed mentoring younger colleagues, encouraging them to succeed in their careers.

Dan was known by many for his intelligence, quick wit, and generosity. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love for those around him, and the many ways he supported and encouraged others. He especially cherished the traditions that connected him to the people he loved-annual hunting trips with his family; cheering on the Florida Gators; and indulging his lifelong passion for classic cars.

Dan is survived by his wife, Vanessa Macaluso; his three children, Sarah Young (31), Stephen Macaluso (28), and Sean Macaluso (24); his son-in-law, Blake Young; and his grandchildren, Ava and Hayes Young (3). He is also survived by his parents, Nancy and Richard Macaluso; and David Catari; as well as his three brothers and their spouses, Dominic and Cindi Macaluso, Dean and Kristy Macaluso, and Mike and Tracy Macaluso, as well as their children.

An intimate celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
