Daniel J. Makay

Daniel J. Makay, age 57, of Lake City, was called home on Tuesday August 1, 2023.

He was born in Erie on October 25, 1965, the son of the late John Makay and Susanne Wonner Makay.

Dan was a 1983 graduate of Girard High School.  He worked at PHB Machining and General Electric until MS took away his ability to work.  Dan enjoyed gardening, fishing, and working in his grape vineyard.  He also had a passion for photography and painting.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Amanda (Don) Maicki and Camdon (Emily) Makay; his beautiful grandchildren whom he cherished, Bryson and Carson Maicki, and Aria Makay; two sisters, Nancy Makay (Russ) and Shelly Bender (Kelly) and his nephews, Lucas and Mason Bender and a niece Karly Bender.  He will also be missed by many friends, especially Tad Schnaufer, Larry Hudacky, Hasko Resulovic and Laurie Stewart.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East Girard on Friday August 4, 2023, from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
