Daniel Robert “Peanut” McCourt, Jr., 43, of Columbus, GA, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, in Cataula, GA. A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00PM on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Tazewell Cemetery with Rev. David Chapman officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA, from 3:00-5:00PM. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Daniel, Clay Barrett, Mark Underwood, T. J. Jacobs, Mark McCourt, and Hunter Miller.
Robbie was born in Columbus, GA, on February 15, 1982, to Daniel Robert McCourt, Sr. and Lisa Elaine Barrett Davis. He was an avid baseball player in high school and more recently enjoyed golfing with his brother, Travis. Robbie liked to work on small engines. He especially loved his cats. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Elaine Barrett Davis, by his maternal grandfather, Homer Lee Barrett, by his paternal grandfathers, David McCourt and David Thompson, and by his uncle, Mark McCourt.
He is survived by his father, Daniel Robert McCourt, Sr. of Butler, GA; by three brothers, Travis Daniel of Cataula, GA, Hiram Davis and Charles Lee Barrett Davis, both of Dalton, GA; by a sister, Samantha Daniel of Alabama; his paternal grandmother, Sandra Thompson; by two aunts, Miranda Barrett Key and Rebecca Thurmon; by his uncle Shawn McCourt; a niece and nephew, Rylee and Gavin Daniel, and his close friend, Susan Mitchell of Alabama. Numerous cousins, extended family, and friends also survive.
