Daniel J. McLaughlin, of Longmeadow, founder of McLaughlin Paper Co., died on November 9, 2025. Daniel was born on October 8,1937 in Springfield, MA. He was a graduate of Providence College and earned an MBA from Western New England University. He was born to Daniel McLaughlin and Mary (Garvey) McLaughlin who passed away when Daniel was 2, and became the loving son of Daniel and Mary (Doherty) McLaughlin.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife Genevieve (Masterson) McLaughlin, his four children: Mary Waddington (Thomas), Daniel McLaughlin (Barbara), Karen Edmonds, Kathleen Ringler (Jason). He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Drew (Annie) Waddington, John Waddington, Daniel R. (Maria) McLaughlin, Michael McLaughlin, James McLaughlin, Travis Edmonds, Madison Edmonds, Ethan Ringler, Natalie Ringler. Brother of Mary Jo Salvon and her late husband Joseph Salvon. Visitation will be held at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11a.m., Friday, November 14, at St. Mary's Parish, 519 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow. Please go directly to church. Burial will follow at Saint Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, Daniel's family is requesting donations to the Sisters of Saint Joseph, 577 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.

Truly, the best of the very best since I was a young boy caddying at Longmeadow country club, Dan would always make sure that we were treated fairly.
