Daniel Mentel Obituary
Dan was born on March 15, 1957, in Austin to Clarence and Elaine Mentel. As a child, he was active in both sports and music. A lifelong bachelor, Dan enjoyed reading, spending time in nature, and collecting antiques.
He was the oldest of five siblings and is survived by his brother Mike (Betsy) Mentel of Idaho; sister Marlys (Derek) Lerum of Hayward, Minnesota; brother Robert (Alyssa) Mentel of Austin, Minnesota; and sister Ruth (Brett) Carpenter of Clear Lake, Minnesota. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Dan worked alongside his father for many years in the family sewer business, which he eventually took over after his father's passing. Later, he worked as a bus driver until his retirement.
A funeral service will be held at Queen of Angels Church in Austin, Minnesota, on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Dan's life.
