Daniel P. Merola
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Dan is predeceased by his father, Anthony Merola, and his great nephews, Knox and Nash Mrozek. He is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth; his cherished children, Anthony Merola, Hunter (Analiese) Merola, Brooklyn (Tolga) Turmen, Alexis (Andrew) Honan, and Lacy (Adam Williams) Bauer; his beloved grandchildren, Leylah, Evren, Piper, and Capri; his mother, Josephine OgeenMerola; his siblings, Terri (Chris) Battaglia, John Merola, and Ann Marie (Nick) Leonardi; as well as several nieces and nephews. He will also be deeply missed by his dear friends, Frank Diponzio and Kevin Degnan.
Dan loved visiting the Florida coast with his wife and children and cherished time spent hunting and fishing with his kids. He was a hardworking man who owned his own pool company and took pride in building a family business where everyone could work together. Dan was not only a devoted and happy father, but he found even greater joy in being a papa to his grandchildren. Most of all, he will be remembered for his deep love, devotion, and kindness toward his family and friends.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00–7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, at Farrell-Ryan Funeral & Cremation Services. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Greece.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NYU Langone Health in Dan’s memory.
