Daniel Edward Meyers, age 70, of Gettysburg, formerly of Croydon and Levittown, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Mercy House Hospice. He was the devoted and loving husband of Patricia (Weiser) Meyers, with whom he shared 48 wonderful years of marriage.

Born September 28, 1955, in Philadelphia, Dan was a son of the late Edward Lawrence Meyers and Dolores (Opp) Meyers. Raised in Croydon, he was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1973.

Dan dedicated much of his life to public service and caring for others. He began his career as an animal control officer for the Bristol Township Police Department, and while volunteering as an ambulance driver for the Levittown–Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, he met the love of his life, Patty. He went on to serve as a patrolman with the Amtrak Police, later became a registered nurse, and eventually worked as a truck driver, showing remarkable dedication and versatility throughout his working life.

Dan's greatest joy was traveling the world with his wife, proudly visiting ten countries together. They made countless trips to Canada, where they formed lifelong friendships with the Royal Regiment of Canada Band, becoming its only American member of the association. Dan participated in living history presentations, often dressing as a Toronto police officer or firefighter, delighting audiences with his passion for history. He also greatly enjoyed dancing with the Victorian Dance Ensemble, embracing both music and tradition with enthusiasm.

Dan is survived by his children: James Meyers and his wife Audrey, Casey Meyers and his wife Summer, and Megan Meyers and her partner Sean Ward; his stepchildren: Francis Trimble and his wife Amy, and Tamara Thomas and her husband Preston; two granddaughters and ten step-grandchildren; his brother Edward Meyers and his wife Kathie; and his sisters Linda Morrin and her husband Dan, and Julie Meyers. He is also survived by many extended family members and cherished friends.

A service to celebrate Dan's life will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg, with Rev. John Wega and Rev. Beth Folkemer officiating. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will take place on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the start of the service at the funeral home. Following the service, cremation will be honored in accordance with Dan's wishes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy House Hospice, 730 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Dan, you were a wonderful neighbor. I only wish we could´ve spent more time together in Gettysburg. You helped the community so much in your efforts every day and every way. And now your final resting, may you rest in peace. May God also bless Pat and the family in this terrific loss.
your friends, Karen and Rick Setz.
