Daniel Motl Obituary

Daniel Francis "Dan" Motl Parker, CO - Daniel Motl passed away on February 21, 2025 in Parker, CO. He was 84 years old. He was a beloved husband, father and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Dan was born in December 1940 in Waterloo, Wisconsin to Alice Korth Motl and Clarence Motl. Waterloo is where he spent his childhood years prior to his years of service in the US Navy (August 1959-August 1963). He cherished his years in the Navy and would let everyone know of his service. He would regularly tell stories of the years he spent in the Navy and it was a point of pride in his life. After serving his country in the Navy, Dan graduated from Madison Technical College in Madison, WI as a machinist in 1966. Dan married his wife, Emily (Johnson), on June 19, 1965 and would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this June. They moved to Wisconsin Rapids, WI where together they raised their family of two children Melissa and Chris. Dan was employed as a machinist at Consolidated Papers for 34 years, retiring in 2002. He took great pride in his years as a machinist and upon retirement Emily and Dan moved to the Denver, CO area to be near their daughter, Melissa (Chuck) Jones, and her family. Dan spent his retirement in the Denver area with his grandchildren Hannah (Brenden) Quinette, Chase and Andrew. They would travel to Connecticut to visit his son, Chris (Christine) and two grandchildren, Davis and Emma. In the last three years, Dan enjoyed time with his twin great-grandsons, Grayson and Liam (Quinette). He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law (Gerald and Bonnie Motl). He is survived by his sister Priscilla Motl (Waterloo, WI). His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held for family and friends on May 24, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. (469 Airport Avenue Wis. Rapids, WI)
