Daniel Patrick Muldoon Jr., age 36, of Hanover, formerly of Plymouth, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston on January 28, 1989, Danny was the beloved son of Daniel Patrick Muldoon Sr. and Jean (Cavanaro) Muldoon. He grew up with his family in Plymouth.
At six months old, Danny began attending the School for Brain Injured Children in Braintree, followed by North River Collaborative and the McKinley School in Rockland. He spent nearly a decade at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton, from which he graduated in 2011. After graduation, he moved to Hanover into his Webster Street home with Road to Responsibility, where he thrived for many years in their residential and day programs. He loved returning home on weekends and holidays to spend time with his family.
Despite the many challenges that Danny faced due to cerebral palsy, he lived an active and joyful life. He enjoyed memorable trips to Disney World with both his family and his classmates from Massachusetts Hospital School. He learned to ski at Sunday River through Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation, ran the Falmouth Road Race alongside his father, and enjoyed swimming in his parents' pool. During his time at Massachusetts Hospital School he loved windsurfing on Reservoir Pond and horseback riding. He cherished family trips to his grandparents' cottage in Northport, Maine where Pa would walk him around the neighborhood for hours. An avid Boston sports fan, Danny especially loved the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.
Music was one of Danny's greatest passions. He was a proud member of a choral group called the Head Bangers at Massachusetts Hospital School. He enjoyed attending concerts, whether it be Britney Spears at Great Woods or a Grateful Dead cover band in his parents' backyard. His favorite musicians included the Grateful Dead, Britney Spears, Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles. Danny also loved food-especially Reese's Peanut Butter Cups-and had a well-known appreciation for beautiful women, eagerly awaiting each year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition calendar.
Deeply loved and cherished by his devoted family, Danny is survived by his parents, Daniel and Jean Muldoon of Plymouth; his sister, Colleen Rubbelke, and her husband, Michael, of Cohasset; his brother, William Muldoon, and his partner, Rebecca Briggs, of Plymouth; his grandfather, William Cavanaro of Largo, Florida; his niece and nephews, Graham, Catherine, and Jack Rubbelke his late uncle Dennis Muldoon; his godparents, Nancy Walsh and John Cavanaro; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his Road to Responsibility family.
Danny shared a close and loving bond with his late grandparents, Christopher and Joan Muldoon ("Pa and Grammy"), as well as his late grandmother Mary Ann Cavanaro ("Nana") and late aunt Jean Colligan.
A service for Danny will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cartmell–Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court Street,
Plymouth, MA (next to Cordage Park). Danny's family expresses their deep gratitude for the love and support Danny received throughout his life from the staff and providers at each of his programs, especially the staff of the Webster Street house in Road to Responsibility's residential program where he lived for the last 14 years. Their care and devotion allowed Danny to live a full and happy life independently, despite his disability.
