Daniel "Dano" Richard Owens,

Aged 50 of Waconia, MN., passed away on December 18, 2025, eight days after his mother had passed.

Dano was born on February 7, 1975 in Wabasha, Minnesota and was adopted by parents, Dennis and Lynn (Johnson) Owens. He graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1993 and the Virigina Military Institute (VMI) in 1997. He worked for Wells Fargo Mortgage and other financial institutions in the twin cities area for over twenty years. In later years he discovered his passion to help others who were struggling with life by working for Partners Behavioral Health Care, a Social Re-entry and Recovery Program for men. Dano married Kathleen Bundy in 2004. They enjoyed life on Libbs Lake for 20 years and recently moved to Waconia.

Dano enjoyed body building and assisting others in their quest to become more fit or defined by his knowledge of the anatomical body. He loved fishing, especially the Canadian fly-in trips with his father. His wit and charisma were accompanied by an infectious grin. His stories were captivating and his friends many. Dano grew up on Lake Virginia and loved to swim, water-ski, and fish. He enjoyed his Chesapeake dogs and later transitioned to cats with his wife. He and his wife loved cooking, always trying new recipes. They loved to watch Scary movies. Gone too soon, he will be remembered by his love, his "Stoic' character, personal relationship with Jesus, and heavy metal music while working out.

Dano inherited his mother's patience and understanding by spreading love and kindness to everyone he encountered, especially when they were facing a difficult day or issue. His calming nature often lessened issues others faced by his presence and suggestions. His interpersonal skills were a rare gift in helping others, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

Preceded in death by his mother, Lynn and his uncle, David Owens. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, his father, Dennis, his aunts Gail Owens, Linda Benson, Julie Bangs, Dayna Sanders and several cousins.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on January 7, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4087 West Broadway Avenue, Robbinsdale, MN, 55422. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be at Groveland Cemetery.
