Daniel P. "Dan" Pehl

Daniel Paul Pehl, 56, of Stockton, IL, formally of Freeport, IL, fell asleep in death on July 9, 2025. Dan was born to Valliana Pehl in Loveland, Colorado on June 20, 1969. Danny May attended Freeport schools before heading to Great Lakes Navy Boot Camp. Returning to the Freeport area, Dan worked at various businesses, most notably Memory's Bar n Grill where he was known as Mario and SnakKing where everyone called him Dan the Man. Dan met his wife Jean (Roberts) Pehl while working at Memory's and wed on September 30, 1995. Together they raised four children, Cora Jean (Kent) Reuber, Rebecca Pehl, Seth (Lilliana) Roberts, and Joshua Dearth. Dan was the proud Papa of six grandchildren, Josiah, Nehemiah, Naomi and Esther Reuber, Ezikiel Bachynski and Cecillia Collins. Dan will be missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, sister Janelle Vogt, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and his dog Snowy and cat Billy. Dan was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Val May, his grandparents Elmer and Ella Mae Pehl and Dean and Joyce May and his uncles Mark and Mike May. The family would like to extend a thank you to SSM Health and SSM Hospice for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. A visitation will be held on Saturday August 9, 2025, from 10 AM - 12 noon, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Freeport Moose Lodge from 1 PM - 5 PM.
