Daniel "Dan" Perry, 66, of Tolono passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 8:56 PM.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney with Pastor Dan Foultz officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sidney. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Dan was born March 7, 1959 in Crawfordsville, IN, a son to Ivan and Ersie Gaines Perry. He was married to Diane Childress, she preceded him in death on December 20, 1998. Surviving are four children; Barbie Beals of St. Joseph, Dr. Amanda (Prakash) Kannan of Dallas, TX, Danielle (Chris) Wade of Tolono, and Maggie Perry of Urbana, ten grandchildren; Jackson Beals, Hallie and Carlie Duitsman, Diana, Elyssa, and Chloé Kannan, and Christian (Sidnie) , Abigail, Dawsen (Jessica), Kenna and Emily Wade, his siblings; William (Bonnie) Perry of Veedersburg, IN, Susie (Gary ) Cox of Veedersburg, IN, David Perry of Homer and Jimmy (Theresa) Perry of Champaign.

He was preceded in death by his siblings; Dewaine, Bev, Tootie, Gene, Allen and Rose Marie, his parents and a son-in-law; Aaron Scott.

He was an owner/operator and ran an LTL freight company, he drove a semi for over 40 years. His CB handle was "Thin Man". He enjoyed camping, canoe trips, golf cart rides, campfires, boating and being out on the lake, NASCAR and old Westerns. He was known for having a witty, sarcastic sense of humor and the best quips. He and Diane were foster parents to dozens of children, changing and molding their lives.

He was a strong man of faith. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the impact he had on all who knew him.
