Date of Death: July 3, 2025
Date of Birth: February 2, 1957
Daniel Herbert Pusey, 68, of Greene, passed away at his home July 3, 2025.
Dan was born in Portland, Maine on February 2, 1957 to the late Louise and Herbert Pusey. He attended school in South Portland where he set a track record for his running. He graduated from Yarmouth High School and earned his degree at Northeast Technical Institute.
He was a truck driver by trade, doing everything from over the road to delivering oil. He was employed by Perry Transport in Poland for the last 15 years hauling asphalt and other materials to various job locations in Maine.
Dan is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl, his four sisters Karen Smail and husband Jack, Alice MacVane and husband Jerry, Mary Samora and husband Ken, and Sandra Leeman and husband Joe. He is also survived by sister-in-law Deena Bonney (late husband Ken) and brother in law Ray Jett and partner Deb, and his beloved dog Molly. He was uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews in Maine, North Carolina and New Jersey.
Dan was known for his open friendly, gregarious personality, sense of humor and smiling face. Anyone acquainted with him knew him to be loyal, kind, honest and generous. He was always willing to help, be it family, friends, co-workers or even a stranger on the side of the road in need of help.
He found pleasure in the simple things: road trips with Cheryl and Molly to places he had discovered while working and considered beautiful, time spent with family and friends, nature, winter walks on the beach, the backyard birdfeeder and watching sports. He also thoroughly enjoyed ice fishing especially with his sister Karen and brother- in-law Jack. He often said "any day on the ice was a good day."
There will be a visitation from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday July 12 with a service to follow at 11 AM at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St., Lewiston, Maine.
