Daniel Racette Obituary

Daniel Noel Racette

Dec. 24th, 1966 - Feb. 9th, 2024

Dan Racette was a loving husband, a caring father, and a martial artist. He passed peacefully in his home with his wife and children present.

He was proceeded in death by his older sister Stephanie "Duck" Racette, his mother Agatha "Aggie" Racette, and father Henry "Handsome Hank" Racette.

He is survived by his wife Sharon, his two children Lainey and Eve Racette. As well as his brothers, Henry Racette and John Racette. Along with his sisters, Teri DePuy, Tracy Aragon, and Jennifer Finlayson.

Dan began his martial arts journey in his twenties, studying under Phil Gilbert at AKKA Karate. Over many years he was an integral figure to the organization, infamous for his quick thinking and hilarious twists on katas, such as using rolled up magazines at the last minute to perform Mass Attack during a tournament.

He was known by friends and family as a nerd who had a love for building pcs from scratch, enjoyed creating immersive worlds in D&D, and tabletop games.

His children knew him best for his love of martial arts, his enjoyment of puns and dad jokes.

In his wife's words "He was my amazing, fearless, noble, courageous, genius, gentleman with an astounding sense of humor and a heart of gold."

I am so sorry to hear about Daniel´s passing. I know him from Mr Gilbert´s school and training with him from time to time and many conversations about knives... he will be missed. I sorry for your loss.
