After high school, he worked for approximately 10 years at Pyrotronics in Cedar Knolls, then returned to college at Ramapo College of NJ where he received a Bachelor's degree in Education. He worked at a variety of teaching jobs, but his favorite was a Morris County Vocational Technical High School in Denville, NJ, where he enjoyed imparting his love and knowledge of auto mechanics, plumbing and other vocational skills to his students.
Dan also enjoyed amateur auto mechanics and his nephews benefited greatly from his careful tutelage and assistance with their own car maintenance and repairs. He was also an early member of The Rockaway Sports Club where he enjoyed participating in softball and bowling. He was an avid beach-goer and took many vacations at the Jersey shore and Florida.
He was loved by many who he was always ready to lend a helping hand to, and will be fondly remembered for his generous assistance in any domestic project.
He was predeceased by his father, John Riccio, Sr. (81) and his mother, Leona Riccio (87).
Danny is survived by his older brother, James Riccio (72), sister-in-law, Carolyn Riccio (62), and younger siblings, John Riccio, Jr. (68) and spouse Sharon Riccio (67), Mary Riccio Kelly (65), and Mark Riccio (63). He also has several nieces and nephews: Jamie, Candace, John, Steven, Jackie, Larry and Kristen, and was an active part of their lives.

I am writing with a heavy heart to express my deepest condolences on the passing of Danny. He was a truly special person, and I will forever cherish our memories together. I still remember the day he stood by my side as my groomsman, a testament to our enduring friendship. His passion for cars was infectious, and I always admired his enthusiasm. Above all, his kind heart and generous spirit touched everyone he met. He will be profoundly missed. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy during this incredibly difficult time.

Sincerely,
