Daniel Rupar

Three years ago we all lost a tremendous human being and professional. Dan Rupar was my fraternal big brother, however, he became much more. Our early interactions quickly revealed an individual that was incredibly accomplished yet who was always willing to share his experiences and wisdom. I admired and respected him greatly. This appreciation deepened throughout our collegiate experiences together and as we jointly embarked upon careers within the legal profession. Intellect, perspective, integrity, humor and benevolence were characteristics that defined who he was and who he will always be. I have always attempted to emulate these characteristics will continue to do so throughout my life as I fondly reflect upon a remarkable man that has made a lasting impression upon everyone with whom he ever interacted. I just learned through a mutual Ripon friend that I had lost my Big Brother. To Deb and the family: He was a man that I always admired and emulated. Much of my young adult life and career followed the path he led two years in advance. I am immensely saddened to learn of his passing. I will be riding in the YMCA benefit on March 6. Farewell Rupie. I knew you and Dan back when we lived down the street from you near Blue gill and my daughters Lindsey and Taylor babysat for your daughters . i just heard of your loss and I am very sorry to hear.

Deb, Daley and Shaefer, I feel so fortunate to have gotten to know Dan, both personally and professionally. He was a great professional who was able to make the law understandable for those he taught and counseled. He also knew how to keep things in perspective with a wonderful sense of humor, which I really appreciated. And boy did he love his family. His eyes lit up whenever he talked about any of you. He will be missed but never forgotten!

Dan was, and always was, an immovable force of nature. We all first met in 1981. His smile, laughter, strength, and joyful presence was his signature. When Dan was around you knew everything was OK. When he hugged you, you stayed hugged for a long time. You carried all of us at one time or another. Phi Kappa Pi, dear brother. Rest in Peace our Dear Friend.

I got to know Dan briefly as he was a frequent guest at Patina Coffeehose. His kind gentle presence will be missed....my thoughts and love to his family and friends.

I am so sorry to learn that Dan has passed away. He was a student of mine and I knew him as a fine basketball player at Ripon.

Dan was a hero when I needed fast help. I thank him for putting up with my loud little dogs. And my son. I pray he is having a great time climbing mountains or riding bikes somewhere out there. Sending out prayers to his family. He was very proud of his girls. Keep being good girls for your Dad.

Many Prayers to the entire Rupar Family.... Just recently I stopped in to help with some tv issues... I had a chance to talk with Dan and his Brother Pat... I learned their father had an electronics store back in Menomonee Falls, and that Dan and Pat had helped at many times... Many laughs were had of the stories that were told.... So sad to hear of Dan's passing. I only knew him through the cycling community, I admired his cycling abilities and recently learned of his deep community ties. I wish I had the opportunity to know him better, and I will do what I can to honor his legacy.
