“Do not let yourself be bothered by the inconsequential. One has only so much time in this world, so devote it to the work and the people most important to you, to those you love and things that matter.” - Louis L'Amour

Daniel Lee Saucier, 70, formerly of Enfield, Connecticut, and more recently of Americus, GA, peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family on December 22, 2024.

Daniel was born in Southington, Connecticut, to Fernand (Pete) and Patricia Dube, the eldest of seven children. He graduated from Bristol Eastern High School in 1973 before embarking on a career in various jobs, as a butcher (during which time his friends called him the “meat man”), first pressman for a newspaper, and more recently an Amazon warehouse associate. He was a devoted member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus, GA, which he attended with his beloved wife of 20 years, Ann.

Known for his resilience, kindness, sensitivity, and loving nature, Daniel worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He found immense joy in his roles as a husband, father, grandfather, friend, and pet owner. If you knew Daniel, you couldn't miss hearing about his grandkids, because he talked about them constantly. He cherished spending time with his friends. He readily gave and accepted forgiveness from others, and his heart overflowed with compassion and generosity. He was never afraid to show his emotions or strike up a conversation with a stranger. Daniel wanted his family to walk in their God-given purpose, telling his children he aimed to be the man they needed when they felt lost. He encouraged them to improve upon his shortcomings and go further in life, a belief that made his kids proud. His contagious laugh and big hugs will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, especially his wife Ann. Daniel always knew when Ann needed his hugs most.

He loved watching the Three Stooges, Looney Tunes, and M*A*S*H, especially with his children. Daniel was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Boston Red Sox and Celtics. He loved the color red, motorcycles, and woodworking with his hands. He was an avid reader, and his favorite author was Louis L’Amour.

Daniel was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Saucier, and his parents, Fernand (Pete) and Patricia. He is survived by his wife, Ann; his children, Kristy, Daniel, Jamie, and Jodie; and his grandchildren, K’yandra, Kai, Kalijah, Gabrielle, Abigail, Obadiah, Ethan, Bentley, Zachary, Cameron, Alani, Maxwell, and Genesis.

“So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” John16:22 (ESV)

“The three most important things to have are faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” — 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIRV)

Daniel’s life and the love he freely shared will be forever cherished in our hearts.
