Daniel Scheulen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Freeman Mortuary - Jefferson City on Oct. 20, 2023.
Daniel Lee Scheulen, 65, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Capital Region Medical Center from complications of heart surgery.
Dan was born on June 11, 1958, in Jefferson City, one of four sons born to James M. and Beverly (Brewster) Scheulen. Dan was a lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area and graduated in 1976 from Eugene High School.
Dan was a salesman in the automotive industry for years. He worked for the family business, Capital Auto Parts, until they sold in 2003. He then worked for Crown Power and Equipment until his retirement at the end of 2019.
Spending time at the family lake cabin in Rocky Mount, with friends, family, and his daughters, was one of the things he cherished the most. Pontoon rides, NASCAR races, swimming, and visiting with loved ones while sipping on a cold Budweiser, was his way of relaxing. He enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball, Mizzou sports, and the History Channel. He was a collector of many things, such as old coins, WW II memorabilia, and Budweiser steins. Dan also loved classic rock music, you could often find him jamming out in his kitchen to The Rolling Stones or Aerosmith.
His grandchildren were one of the greatest joys of his life. Dan loved spending time with them and supporting them in their individual hobbies. Building model airplanes with Graham, watching Annalynn ice skate, and cheering Oliver on in his sports just to name a few.
He will be fondly remembered for his endearing and goofy personality. Dan exuded a laid-back demeanor, never allowing stress to disrupt his easygoing nature. His humor was infectious, and he possessed a remarkable sense of wit. His passing leaves an evident void in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Survivors include his loving daughters, Ashton S. Jones (Jeremy) of Jefferson City and Lacey M. Scheulen (Adam Scherr) of Lohman; three grandchildren, Graham Scheulen, Annalynn Jones, and Oliver Jones.
He was preceded in death by his companion, Debbie Moad; his parents; and three brothers, Mike Scheulen, Randy Scheulen and Dave Scheulen.
Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 26, 2023, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Melissa Hatfield officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 95, Jefferson City, MO 65102.
