Daniel Barnett Scott Jr.

Daniel Barnett Scott, Jr., age 70, was found on January 22, 2026, at his home having passed from natural causes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Terri Hastings Scott, his parents, Daniel Barnett Scott, Sr. and Marilyn Imogene "Jean" Free Scott, and his older sister, Patricia Scott Fletcher.

Survivors include his sister, Jan Scott Ledbetter, of Rome; niece, Cecilia Bell Reagan, of Atlanta; nephew, Jeremy Bell; nephew, Jay Darnell; niece, Jennifer Darnell Parker, all of Rome; 2 great nieces and a great nephew.

Growing up, he enjoyed going to the Boy's Club where he participated in the Boy's Club Choir and learned how to develop film in their dark room.

After graduating from West Rome High School, Clyde Collier asked him to join his Photography shop where he continued to develop film and perfect his photography skills. He always had some kind of camera with him ready to capture the moment. He worked for Clyde Collier Photography for over 37 years.

Dan was a member of the Rome Exchange Club where he was very involved with the Coosa Valley Fair each year.

Dan will be cremated with a memorial being announced later.
