Daniel J. Seitz
December 30, 1946 - December 26, 2025
MOUNT PLEASANT – Daniel J. Seitz, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 26, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
A lifelong resident of the area, Dan was born in Racine on December 30, 1946, to the late Victor and Ethel (née Williams) Seitz. After graduating from St. Catherine's High School, he went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin–Parkside. Dan honorably served his country in the United States Army, a period of his life that shaped his dedication to duty and hard work.
On September 30, 1972, he was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Camille Jensen. Together, they built a life centered on family and shared 53 years of marriage. Dan's professional life was defined by his 40-year career with SC Johnson. He was a loyal and respected employee, eventually being honored as a member of the prestigious SC Johnson 40-Year Club upon his retirement.
Dan's greatest joy, however, was his family. He was a devoted father who never missed a chance to be involved in his daughters' lives, whether he was coaching their sports teams or serving as the Athletic Director at Sacred Heart School. He cherished annual family fishing trips to the Chippewa Flowage, afternoons on the golf course with his close friends, and the excitement of trips to Las Vegas. Dan was a devoted Cubs fan.
He is survived by his wife, Camille; his daughters, Erin (Steven) Harmelink and Jamie Seitz; and his cherished grandson, Dylan Harmelink. He is further survived by his brother, Michael Seitz; sisters-in-law, Susan and Kathleen Seitz; brother-in-law, David Brower; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Donald Seitz; brother, James Seitz; sister, Susan Brower; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Linda Jensen.
Private family services will be held. Dan will be laid to rest with military honors at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations sent to your choice of a local Veterans non profit.
