Daniel Shea Obituary

Shea, Daniel
6/27/1993 - 8/15/2023
Comstock Park
Daniel Clement Shea, affectionately known as "Dan The Man," passed away on August 15, 2023. Born on June 27, 1993, in Chicago, Illinois, Daniel's vibrant spirit and zest for life touched the hearts of many during his thirty years. Daniel was the beloved son of Clement P. III and Penny J. Shea. He was a brother to Claire Shea (Kirk Dyer), and a loving uncle to his nephews, Asher and Beckum. He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Brittany Martin, and his grandmother, Joanne Mix, who will all miss him dearly. Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shirley (Jay) Swiger, Clement P. Shea Jr., and Roger Mix. In addition to his immediate family, Daniel is survived by his aunts and uncles, Bobbi (Michael) Barrara, Mark (Karla) Shea, Louise (Bill) Jacobs, Sara Shea, and Sue Shea. He will also be remembered by his cousins, Allie and Alex Shea, Aaron Barrera (Craig Tamburelli), Kaleigh Jacobs, Matthew Poppe, Jessica Stage, Aiden Brueggeman, Shayla Bajric, as well as his many cousins and extended family in Canada too numerous to mention. Daniel was a man who lived his life to the fullest. His infectious enthusiasm for life was evident in his personal motto, "Slay The Day." He approached each day with positivity and adventure, always seeking to make the most of every moment. His mission was to bring joy and happiness to those around him, and he succeeded in this through his warm personality and his knack for making people smile. DanIel overcame adversity and focused on his zest for life. Daniel was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He always had a twinkle in his eye, a perfect reflection of his vibrant spirit, always filled with new ideas and a natural curiosity about the world. Daniel's interests were as diverse as his personality. He was a lover of the outdoors, with snowboarding and off-roading among his favorite pastimes. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his love for his family. He cherished the time he spent with his loved ones, and his family will always remember him for his unwavering commitment and love. Daniel Clement Shea was truly one of a kind. His life may have been shorter than we had all hoped, but his impact on those who knew him was profound. He squeezed every bit of life out of every moment and day. He was a man who danced to the beat of his own drum, always ready to explore new horizons and embrace new adventures. His legacy of love, resilience, joy and passion will continue to serve as a testament to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him and remind us all to "Slay The Day". Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, 21, 2023 at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 4865 – 11 Mile Rd. NE., Rockford. Daniel's family will greet relatives and friends Sunday, August 20th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Consolation Church and one hour prior to Mass on Monday. My sincere condolences to Daniel´s immediate family, Brittany, his extended family and all who were blessed to know this wonderful young man. I had the absolute honor and privilege to know him and actually hang out with him on a few occasions, as recently less than a year ago along with a few of his closest friends. Daniel met me during one of the most challenging adverse times of my life, because of his close relationship with my son in law Ryan he was more aware than most, his light always shining encouraging me to live each moment from this day forward, embrace what life has yet to offer me and just let go of what´s in the past. Little did he know how much his genuine truths of life meant to me, I always appreciated his sincere concern for my well being and each time he seen me he let me know my shine was coming back and the worst was behind me. The last time I seen him and we said our goodbye´s he hugged me tightly, let me know how happy he was to see me finally out of the darkness embracing life as I should....then whispered you so got this Lisa. I will forever cherish his compassion and comfort because that´s just who Daniel was. A testament to the beautiful human being he was, and he will forever be missed.
My hope is we all find comfort in our precious memories of Daniel during this most difficult time.

With love and sincerity
