I'm so very sorry to hear the news about Dan. I deeply respected his banking acumen and most of all his quick smile. Dan was a long term associate of mine back in the days of Cleveland Trust. My deepest sympathy.

We have wonderful happy memories of spending time with Dan (affectionately known as Dano to us) on family vacations in Canada, England and in Cleveland. We have been warmly welcomed into the Stein family after Paul married Tina and have been very fortunate to have experienced Dan's warmth, love and wicked sense of humour. We are sorry that we cannot be with you but we are thinking of you all. We send you sincere condolences and all our love. Heather and Julie xxx

Dan and his family were our neighbors on Kennedy Ridge in North Olmsted and Dan was my co-worker at Cleveland Trust. My sister and I remember walking down East 9th Street in Cleveland on the way to work and he would say "he was a thorn between two roses". Dan was a great guy, always pleasant, and easy to work with. He will be greatly missed.

I have always been proud to call Dan my cousin. Growing up his brother Don and sister Patty would come to our house in Sandusky to fish and go to the Cedar Point amusement park. This likely contributed to Dans love for boating and his Dad to buy a new boat and call it the Patty-Lu.

I would go to their house in Tiffin where we went down to the park and played baseball. Once, Dan hit a wicked line drive that hammered off Pattys nose. When we took her home with a bloody nose Dans Mom said My God what did you do to your sister? Dan in a very confident and firm voice accepted no blame saying she should have gotten out of the way.

Dan and Janet asked me to be a groomsmen at their wedding. I was honored and just cant believe it was 52 years ago.

To Janet and her family, Sandy and I express our deepest sympathy.

Dear Janet and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Dan and I were classmates from the 1st grade at St. Mary grade school through high school at Calvert in Tiffin. When my wife Sue and I relocated here in Avon, Ohio, a mutual friend brought us together again. Ron and Sue Rochester

Dan and I worked together in United States Power Squadrons for many years. There, we became good friends and coworkers. I always appreciated Dan and really should be attending the funeral. However my health is such that the trip would be very difficult for me. None the less, our prayers are with Jan and the rest of Dan's family. s/ Marilyn and Doug Kerr

We are all so sad to realize that Dan is gone. He would come up to Canada with Jan to visit with Christine, Paul and Jason. And we knew we were in for a great visit with laughs and cards and plenty of kibitzing.
To the whole family please know that we grieve with you as you have lost a wonderful man, and we will always miss him. With love - Lisa, Jared, Frieda and Marshall

Our favorite memory was when we rented houseboats together with Steins and Kurzenbergers and cruised the Trent Severn. The next time it was the 1000 Islands cruise we did together in houseboats plus the many cruises on Lake Erie with Power Squadron that we did together. They were our neighbors for many years on Dorothy Dr. Dan will be missed by us and many friends.
