Daniel J. Szczurko

Daniel J. Szczurko, 92, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in the comfort of his home, with his devoted wife at his bedside.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of nearly seventy-two years, Margaret (Latino) Szczurko; their three children, Daniel J. Szczurko, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Falmouth, Donna M. Vergadamo and her husband Dr. Paul Vergadamo of Woodstock Valley, CT, and David L Szczurko and his wife Maureen of Rutland; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Daniel was the last surviving sibling of seven children born to Jacob and Cecelia (Majupa) Szczurko, and has lived in Worcester his entire life, other than when he and Margaret would "winter" in Florida. Daniel attended Saint Mary's School and Worcester Public Schools and later served his nation proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Daniel was an Electric Planner in the Engineering Department at Norton Company, retiring in 1992 after twenty-seven years of dedicated service. He was a member of Saint Christopher's Church, the West Boylston VFW Post 6907, and will be remembered as a dedicated, hard-working family man. Daniel and Margaret enjoyed travelling the world and were blessed to have experienced over one hundred cruises, with one as recently as three months ago.
On Monday, July 24, Daniel's Services will the held in Saint Christopher's Church, 950 West Boylston Street, Worcester, with Calling Hours from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
