Daniel Thomas Tilotta, 71, passed away March 7, 2025 in Sugar Land, Texas. Born July 10,
1953 in Houston, Texas to Lee and Pegge Tilotta. He was the first born of 5. He attended St. Ambrose
Catholic School and graduated in 1972 from Scarborough High School. He started working on cars at
14 at the family business, Systems Garage. From there he worked at a Chevrolet Dealership for 10
years and then went to work at David Taylor Cadillac from which he retired on September 14, 2018.
He loved all things "CARS", watching, racing, building them, working on them, but especially his 1969
Z 28 Camaro, SLEE-Z. He purchased her in 1971, stored her, and then rebuilt her. He showed her all
over Texas; he won first place in "Best of Show" three times at the Houston Auto Show. He was also
an ASE, Certified Auto Technician. Once Mr. Taylor referred to Danny as a Top Gun at his dealership.
While working at David Taylor Cadillac, he met Cecilia "Seal" Anderson in 1985. They were married
July 25, 1987. It was a cultural shock, marrying into a giant Sicilian family, but a lot of fun. He resided in
Sugar Land until his passing.
Danny was blessed with two incredible children, James Lee and Tara Danielle. He loved them
dearly and always provided for us all. James set up his lights with sound in the garage and there was
always a Car Show for all the kids. Tara was very special and rare in Danny's family dominated by
males and being the youngest. He was very proud of his family and spending time with us. He also loved
being on the beach and watching the Houston Astros.
Danny had an incredible work ethic and a very kind heart. He was loved and admired by his
family, friends, and coworkers. Always lending a helpful hand.
He leaves behind his wife Cecilia Anderson Tilotta, his daughter Tara Danielle Tilotta, Brothers
Mark and Steve, Sister Leesa and brother-in-law Larry Brown. Nephews Justin, Raymond and Nathan
Tilotta, and Aaron Sanford. Very special friends, Angela Andel and Helen Mathis, with a host of many
others.
Danny is preceded in death by his son James Lee, his parents Lee and Pegge Tilotta, his
sister Theresa Tilotta, and his nephew David Tilotta.
He will be greatly missed by all. He was, and will always be, the love of my life
