Daniel Lee Timm, age 65 of Manley, Nebraska passed away on March 15, 2026, at his home in Manley. He was born on June 17, 1960, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Leroy and Marilyn (Laughlin) Timm.
Dan was raised in Murdock, where he graduated from high school in 1978, standing out as an exceptional athlete. Dan continued his education at the University of Nebraska Technical Agriculture School in Curtis. He devoted 34 years to his career with the Midwest Farmers Co-op. In his later years, he served the community diligently by driving a Rock Truck for the Cass County Department of Roads.
A passionate and dedicated member of the fire service, Dan served on the Murdock, Greenwood, and most recently, the Manley Fire Departments. His commitment to community safety exemplified his generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Dan's love for nature was reflected in his enthusiasm for birdwatching, particularly hummingbirds. He was an active member of the Blue Birds Across America Organization. An avid outdoorsman, Dan enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and outdoor cooking. He also participated in programs aimed at engaging families in outdoor activities, including the Becoming an Outdoor Family (for the deaf and hard of hearing), Women of the Outdoors, the Outdoor Discovery Program, and Hunter Education Programs.
In 2016, Dan was honored with the Good Neighbor Award during the Murdock 4th of July Parade. Above all, Dan treasured his family, especially his son Dillon and his beloved grandson Callan. He looked forward to welcoming his first granddaughter into the world.
Dan is survived by his son, Dillon (Emily) Timm of Knoxville, TN, grandson, Callan Timm, parents, Leroy and Marilyn Timm of Murdock, NE, siblings, Jeffery Timm of Elmwood, NE, Jacqueline (Craig) Keffer of Papillion, NE, John (Kandance) Timm of Evanston, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his brother Michael Timm.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 5:00-8:00 PM at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, Elmwood, Nebraska.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, 31104 Church Rd, Murdock, NE 68407 with Pastor Michelle Chesnut officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the Manley Fire Department or Becoming an Outdoor Family.
