Danny died Saturday, May 24, 2025, at his residence.
Daniel Lee Travers, son of Gaylord and Sue (Parker) Travers, was born January 4, 1964, at St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island, Nebraska. The family moved to Norfolk, where Danny attended junior high and high school, graduating from Norfolk Senior High School in 1982 and going on to Wayne State College.
Danny's life was forever changed when he was set up on a blind date with Robyn (Wills) Love. In addition to gaining a wife and partner when they married in 1996, Danny became a loving father to five children, a role that he stepped into and embraced wholeheartedly.
Danny worked at Crafts, Inc. before getting hired as a draftsman for Thermal Design, where he would be employed for 28 years. He also worked with Madison Fire and Rescue for over 25 years. Immensely proud of his life's work, he would often point out his handiwork and say "I put that building up!" and make a point to drive by fire halls wherever he traveled with his family.
Danny loved attending Saturday night races at Riviera with his father, where he worked with 77B Milander Racing as a pit man and handed out programs at the back pit gate. He loved sports of all kinds- the Bills, Royals, and especially anything Husker-related, and could often be found cheering on his grandkids from the sidelines of their games. Danny and Robyn enjoyed spending time traveling in their RV.
Music was important to Danny, and much of his life was set to his soundtrack of 70's and 80's rock. He loved listening to 8-tracks in his garage, especially Dr. Hook, and shared his love of music with his children.
He regularly attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Madison and was a proud Eagle Scout.
Danny is survived by his father, Gaylord; wife, Robyn; children, Eric (Tracey) Love, Ryan (Katie) Love, Lindsey (Aaron) Hallgren, Nick (Alyssa) Love, and April (Greg) Peterson; grandchildren, Kylen, Alex, Isaiah, Brayden, Harper, Cohen, Noah, Easton, Braxton, Marley, Rowan, Owen, and Miles; sister, Janelle (Don) Bayer; brother-in-law, Bob Uhing; sisters-in-law, Julie Travers, Kim Wills, and Becky (Mike) Collins; aunts and uncles; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue; sister, Amy Uhing; and brother, Steve Travers.
