Daniel W. Von Krakau

1936 - 2023

Daniel William Von Krakau of Brentwood, CA born 1/18/36 in San Francisco, CA died 12/29/23 at 12:34 p.m. His lovely wife of 58 years preceded him on 2/21/19. He is survived by his three daughters, Kathryn Bozek (Bill). Sharon Ambrose (Joseph), and Carolyn McKillip (Jason); eleven grand children and fourteen great grandchildren. Daniel graduated from St. Joseph's High School (Seminary). Honorably discharged from the U.S. Army where he served for two years at Camp Zama, Japan. He played baseball and basketball for the U.S. Army, Japan. Upon discharge, he married Vera and began a career in banking and served in several senior management positions for several banks in East Contra Costa. He served as Grand Knight of Antioch Knights of Columbus and is Honorary Life member of that council. He served as a director on the Board of Trustees for Delta Memorial Hospital which merged during his time on the board with Sutter Hospital. He was a chairman of that board in 1994. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and Hugo and a brother, Joseph; and two sisters, Anne and Clair. He is survived by two brothers, Bill and Corneilus, and his sister, Kathleen.His wife and family have always been his greatest blessing from God.The viewing/visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd at Holy Cross Cemetery (2200 East 18th Street in Antioch) at 10:00-11:00. Following will be the mass from 11:00-12:00. After the mass will be the burial/committal from 12:00-12:30. Reception following for family and close friends.
