Rensselaer- Daniel H. Williams, 66, of Rensselaer, NY, passed away peacefully at home on September 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Born on April 22, 1959, in Liberty, NY, Daniel was the beloved son of the late Harvey E. Williams and Ligita "Lee" (Gals) Williams. Dan was a member of the graduating Class of 1977 of Columbia High School. He spent his life dedicated to both his work and his family, leaving a legacy of integrity, perseverance, and love.
Over the years, Daniel held several positions, including with Montgomery Wards in Menands, UPS in Latham, and later with the New York State Thruway Department. No matter the job, he was known for his tireless work ethic and willingness to lend a hand.
A gifted mechanic and natural craftsman, Daniel had a remarkable ability to fix or build just about anything. He approached everything he did with skill and care.
Dan was the devoted husband of 36 years to Cindy A. (Bielawa) Williams, with whom he built a warm and loving home. He was also a proud and supportive father who passed along his passions and talents, especially his love of golf, reading, and history, which he enjoyed sharing with his sons.
In every role-husband, father, friend, and colleague, Daniel will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, James H. Williams. He is survived by his wife, Cindy A. Williams; his sons, Daniel H.A. (Savannah) Williams of North Greenbush, NY and Jeffrey M. (Kim) Williams of Vernon Rockville, CT; his grandchildren, Clarke L. Williams and Eli G. Williams; his siblings, Timothy I. (Jennifer) of East Arlington, VT, Douglas A. (Linda) of Green Island, NY; his uncle, Ivars Gals of Las Vegas, NV; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dan's family from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY 12123. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation period at 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dan's meory to The Community Hospice, 310 S. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208.
