Daniel Wood Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Harrodsburg Road on Jan. 30, 2026.
Daniel Jason Wood "Dan" Of Lexington Kentucky passed away on Saturday, January 24th at the age of 50. He was born in Lexington and grew up in Nicholasville, KY. He attended Sullivan College and was an IT Specialist / Networking Administrator and loved what he did. He also attended Southland Christian Church.

Dan loved fishing on a lake. It gave him peace! He was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball and Football fan. He also loved playing golf, especially with his daughters Ashlee and Addison. He would do anything for his girls. He was so proud and honored to walk Ashlee down the aisle at her recent wedding. Dan was sweet, kind, funny, and had a heart of gold. Dan worked at ARC for many years and helped others in their recovery.

He is survived by his beloved Mother and biggest supporter, Mary Wood; daughter Ashlee Slemp (Aaron); daughter Addison Wood, brother Andrew Wood (Amanda). He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Martha Owens and Father Jim Shubbuck.

Dan will be missed by all, and we are heartbroken, but we will cherish the memories we had with him. We find comfort knowing he is at peace and no longer suffering and is with Jesus. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Southland Christian Church Helping through Him.

His funeral service will be held at 12:30PM Thursday, February 5th, 2025, at Kerr brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Road. visitation will be prior to the service starting at 11AM
