Richard Allen Borders

Richard Allen Borders, age 79, of Lexington, widower of Vicki Hunt Borders, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026. He was born in Westwood, KY on September 30, 1946, the son of the late Ishmael and Lillian Dillow Borders.

Richard was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired steelworker for Armco Steel in Ashland, KY. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed cars, UK sports, and guns.

He is survived by: his son, Dusty Borders of Lexington; niece, Jackie (Brian) Muncy of Lexington; nephew, Brett Conley of Mt. Sterling; great-niece, Paige (Mike) Lynch of Lexington; great-nephew, Drew Muncy of Lexington; great-great-nephew, Jack Henry Lynch; great-great-niece, Elise Lynch; caretaker, Debbie Stanhope; and cousins, Anna Bussell and Jerry Toller, both of Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon Borders Conley and Jack Conley.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with burial to follow. No visitation is planned. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road is in care of arrangements.
