Doris Borders Obituary
Mawmaw was the heart of our family. She loved our big family, and it was important to her for us all to be close together. A talented crocheter, she gifted baby blankets to expecting friends and family. She also enjoyed canning vegetables, making jelly, cooking for her family, and shopping with her granddaughter, Keisha. She dedicated 30 years to Allentown/Central School as a teacher assistant, retiring in 1999. In her retirement, MawMaw cherished time with her family, supporting her grandchildren at sporting events and cheering passionately at basketball games
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Romine Borders; her brothers, Jimmy and Merrell; sisters, Lavern and Nedra; and her daughter, Debra. Doris married Romine at the age of 18, and they shared 62 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.
She is survived by her son, Vernon Borders; daughter, Charlotte Gillis; and grandchildren: Terra Williams, JR (Kelly) Enfinger, Christopher (Marisol) Enfinger, Keisha (Brian) Middleton, Tiffany (Jarred) Trythall, Tyler (Stephanie) Borders, and Joseph (Destiney) Cambron; her great-grandchildren include: Hanah, Conor, Mallory, Jessica, Haleigh, Hunter, Joshua, Gracie, Jacob, Makenna, Jayden, Brady, Ava, Jaylee, Scarlett Grace, Jazlyn, Addyson, Jayce, and Sofia; great-great-grandchildren include: Ivy, Bella, Lula, Huck, Hazel, Nevaeh, Nico, and Daniel; her sister-in-law, Barbra O'Kelley; and her brother-in-law, Randy (Theresa) Wolfe.
Services will be at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton on Monday, February 2, 2026, public visitation will be held at 2:00 pm with memorial services immediately following at 2:30 p.m.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to MawMaw's hospice nurse, Danielle, her caretakers, Ms. Carrie and Ms. Christina; the staff at Trahan Family Funeral Home; and all who provided support during this time. MawMaw will be dearly missed by many and remembered with love.

Way back when I was in school Mrs. Borders was my favorite out of all the staff. She had a smile and cared about the kids. Thankful to have know her. God bless all her family.
